About Beginnings
So we were talking in class recently about how authors would start with something perhaps almost completely unrelated and then once they caught your interest draw you into their story. Even on our class blog we've been bringing it up. So I decided to follow that piece of advice for my personal narrative. It could have started like this, had I procrastinated. "The best times I have with my friends is when I'm playing with them."
But starting out with either "Joy comes in many forms, like the anguish of those you care about." or a "Sometimes I just don't understand why certain objects have warning labels." These are far more interesting. So I'm determined to write my personal narrative that will make anyone joining into the story late think something's wrong with me. It's going to be a blast.
